Laura Marsh

Guest Coach, Cricket for Girls

Laura Marsh is one of England’s most experienced players. Originally a medium pace bowler, Laura turned to spin in 2008 on a tour to Australia, since then she has never looked back. She recently took her 100th International ODI wicket against Sri Lanka and joins only 4 other English players to have done so.

Laura has faced many challenges in her career, none more so than recovering from a shoulder operation, only to pick up the same injury again on her return to cricket. Laura found herself back at square one, facing another 8 to 12 months of rehabilitation, she eventually forced her way back in the side and has gradually become a regular in England’s starting XI.

Laura is able to share huge insight into the art of spin bowling, as well as what it takes to be mentally tough when faced with challenges. She is able to talk first-hand about her experiences and how she dealt with two potentially career threatening injuries, Laura is a brilliant role model for females learning the game.
